All day long, my two-year-old son has been saying this phrase, and my daughter and I just couldn’t figure it out. It sounded kind of like, “dun-der-deep.” He kept saying it and giggling, through Sears, at the playground, while we were at home playing in the sandbox and later eating hummus and crackers together.
“Dun-der-deep!” giggle, giggle.
Finally it clicked.
“Hey, Sweetie,” I said to him, “Dirty deeds?”
“Dun-der-deep!”
Some men take their sons fly fishing, some teach them about shaving, or even how to write their names in the snow. My husband has made sure that the most important lesson was taught during toddlerhood. Now that our son knows about AC/DC, everything else will fall into place from here.

I can only but support this addition to his educational curricula! It actually ties in directly with a recent post of mine: http://updatesfromthefield.wordpress.com/2011/09/15/you-cannot-escape-your-childhood/. I long for 80s rock! 😉

Ha! how twisted is it that as soon as I read “dun-der-deep” I knew EXACTLY what it was…I even missed the title of your blog post. That is too cute though!! (it does kind of sound like that in the song, too, doesn’t it?). He’s an OK guy, that boy of yours :).

Once I figured it out, I don’t know how I missed it. And thanks! I think he’s pretty OK, too!

Ha! That’s awesome. Are you going to get him a british school boy uniform, too?

I was thinking more along the lines of a sleeveless denim jacket hat he can wear open over his bare chest. (It really was cute, though. Between this and his saying, “D’oh!” like Homer Simpson, I think we’ve got his early childhood education in the bag.)
