A (Limited) Literary Rainy Day

Under the influence of The Secret Garden, I almost sent the kids outside in the rain today à la Dickon. But then I changed my mind and just made homemade play-dough instead.

Play dough. My son chose yellow as the color he wanted.

Later we’ll make zucchini bread since it’s so nice and cool out today. Maybe tea will be zucchini bread and milk served in buckets to give the kids a chance to eat like Mary and Colin in the garden.

But I draw the line at bringing squirrels into the house. An orphaned lamb, maybe, but not a squirrel.

Unless it’s a baby squirrel.

Okay, fine they can bring squirrels in the house.

If they’re willing to play outside in the rain.

Your turn! What's on your mind?
