This is my photographic response to this week’s photo challenge by The Daily Post. I like taking photos, especially for this type of challenge. I find it leads me to see the world differently. And seeing the world differently is something I always find enriching.
This week’s challenge was supposed to be about playing around with your camera’s settings (ISO, aperture, shutter speed) to bring a dream-like quality to our photos. What I ended up dreaming of was an entry-level DSLR that would allow me to tinker around with settings more than my point-and-shoot does.
At any rate, here are a couple of photos I shot while thinking about “dreaming.” Maybe I’ll update this post if I find a DSLR at the thrift store next time I’m there.

Thanks for the link! I know what you mean about dreaming about a DSLR. I am lucky enough to have more than a point and shoot camera but I’m way below the luxury of a DSLR. Regardless you have captured a sense of dreaming!

Thanks for the comment! If it didn’t mean processing film and scanning in every photo, I would just go with an old manual SLR like I used in high school photography. If they still even make those things.

If they still do I imagine it is more expensive than ever especially to get the photo paper, chemicals etc to process them yourself. I loved doing all of that in my last year of high school (ummm many moons ago). I wish I had done more with photography then. My current camera was a trade of an easy snap and shoot camera for a more expensive canon which was too complicated for a relative. I happily traded…

Yes, I looked them up and the cameras themselves seem to be about 4x as expensive as they were *mumble-mumble* years ago. I hadn’t even thought about how much it would cost for all of the other processing stuff. With all of the people upgrading their cameras, it’s only a matter of time before I luck into a more flexible camera, I think.
